Michy Batshuayi leaves Chelsea on loan to Borussia Dortmund
Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has left Stamford Bridge to join Borussia Dortmund on loan for the rest of the season.
Batshuayi arrives in Dortmund as a direct replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who completed his move to Arsenal earlier on Wednesday.
In turn, Arsenal have sold Olivier Giroud to Chelsea, who would not release Batshuayi until a replacement was secured.
The Belgian is also after regular football to make sure of his place in Belgium's World Cup squad, telling the Dortmund website: "In order to achieve my big goal, I want to play as much as possible and score many goals. The World Cup takes place in the summer."
Chelsea suggested on their website that Batshuayi was headed to Germany to "continue his development," with no mention of a permanent deal in summer.
The Belgian international has scored 19 times in 53 appearances for Chelsea.
