ITV announces coverage for World Boxing Super Series semi-finals including Groves v Eubank Jr
ITV has announced plans for comprehensive coverage of the semi-finals stage of the World Boxing Super Series, which gives fight fans an unprecedented range of options to view all the action from the four big fights coming up in the weeks ahead.
In an all-British clash, going head to head for a place in the final to decide the WBA ‘Super’ & IBO Super-Middleweight Championships, are George Groves and Chris Eubank Jr. Viewers can watch live action of every blow of this hotly-anticipated contest, taking place at a sold-out Manchester Arena on 17 February, plus expert analysis, build up and undercard on ITV Box Office from 7pm for £16.95.
The ITV Box Office coverage of the biggest boxing spectacle of the new year will be available on pay-per-view for Sky [Sky HD and Q] and Virgin V6 & TiVo viewers, as well as on TVPlayer across a range of devices including online, mobile, Xbox, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and EE TV. Finally, thanks to innovative partnerships, viewers will also be able to access Groves v Eubank Jr via PlayStation Store on the PlayStation®4 and selected Vue Cinemas.
Chris Eubank Jr said: “This is the fight for fight fans not to be missed. I’ve had many big fights but this is the biggest in terms of profile and the tournament and the hype. But at the end of the day I always rise to the occasion. The bigger the fight the better I perform.
“I’m a man of my word and I can promise George will not see the end of the twelfth round."
George Groves said: “I think the form, the history, the experience, the ability all lie in my favour and I’m looking forward to a big night in Manchester. It’s a semi-final in a tournament I expect to win so Eubank Jr. is just a stepping stone, another step for me on the way to the Muhammad Ali Trophy.”
The following week another live ITV Box Office PPV event will offer viewers full coverage of the clash to claim the other place in the final to face the winner of Groves v Eubank Jr.
On 24 February live from Nuremberg, the channel will bring viewers the showdown between Callum Smith and Jürgen Brähmer for £9.95.
But before the Super-middleweight bouts, come the semi-finals of the Cruiserweight division, both of which will be live and free to view, with a place in the final and a chance to claim the unified WBO, WBC, IBF and WBA Cruiserweight titles.
First up, on 27 January live from Riga is Oleksandr Usyk [Ukraine] versus Mairis Briedis [Latvia], which can be seen from 8.45pm on ITV Box Office [free to view] on Sky 493 and TVPlayer.
