Out of Contract XI: ITV Sport take a look at the ultimate eleven players who are out of contract this summer
The January transfer window is up and running which means one thing; players on the move.
There seems to be an abundance of top quality talent out of contract this summer which means players can start signing pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs with a view to moving in the summer.
ITV Sport takes a look at the ultimate Premier League 'Out of Contract XI' but would they win the title?
Goalkeeper - Tim Krul
No disrespect to Tim Krul but admittedly the side is a little light in the goalkeeping department. Having said that, Krul has represented the Netherlands eight times and for what it's worth was considered the star player in an ailing Newcastle side. Yet to make an appearance for Brighton, perhaps it is time Krul looked for pastures new.
Luke Shaw - Left back
How do you solve a problem like Luke Shaw? Clearly, a hugely talented footballer but question marks over his fitness, tactical nouse and even attitude have been raised by manager Jose Mourinho. With a potential deal being discussed with Spurs' Danny Rose, it could mean Shaw's United career ends with a whimper.
Daley Blind - Centre back
Versatility is the first word that springs to mind when you mention Daley Blind. But people forget his security and confidence on the ball. Able to play almost anywhere across the back four and even into midfield, Blind is a very useful player to have in your side. Considering our lack of options at the back, he looks to be one of the most assured.
Robert Huth - Centre back
Premier League winner, say no more. Would challenge anyone to argue against Robert Huth's importance to Leicester's title-winning side. Strong, tall and vastly experienced, Huth was a strong contender to captain the Premier League's 'Out of Contract XI'.
Ashley Young - Right back
Six months ago choosing Ashley Young at right back would have been highly ridiculed but Mourinho's use of the England international at left back, cutting in on his right and delivering both pinpoint crosses and vital goals has been nothing short of inspired.
Emre Can - Centre midfield
Arguably now Liverpool's most dominant central midfielder. Some sections of the Anfield faithful have been pushing for him to permanently replace Jordan Henderson in the middle of the park. Juventus have been circling around the German for some time now with a return to Bayern Munich also mooted.
Fernandinho - Centre midfield
Table-topping Manchester City have had all the plaudits this season and their attacking quartet of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne have all received special praise. Fernandinho has gone slightly under the radar but if you speak to Pep Guardiola he would suggest the Brazilian is of the utmost importance to how his team play. He has even added a few goals to his game this season too.
Alexis Sanchez - Left-wing forward
First name on the teamsheet for this team of wantaways. Alexis Sanchez's attitude has come into question this season as his contract nears its end but out of this entire team he is the least a club would like to lose. Arsenal's best player by a long way, led Chile to consecutive Copa Americas and could lead this team to Premier League glory.
Mesut Ozil - Attacking midfield
Mesut Ozil is probably the most naturally gifted footballer in this side and thus takes his place in arguably the most important position. Ozil's eye for a pass and general classiness puts him in with a shout of starting for any team in world football. Often much maligned and often rightly so, few can stomach seeing the German's talent go to waste.
Juan Mata - Right-wing forward
When Mourinho arrived at Manchester United, many said Juan Mata would be heading out of the club. Mourinho sold the Spaniard to United from Chelsea after a series of touchline spats due to substituting the playmaker. Fast forward and Mata has fought of competition from the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial for his position. Mata's composure on the ball and experience of big games means he sees off Santi Cazorla and Ross Barkley in this spot.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Centre forward
There are other younger, fitter and in-form strikers who could potentially line up here but it would be hard to explain Zlatan Ibrahimovic's absence from the starting eleven, despite his struggles this season. Few expected him to even return to the game, yet alone to start games at the highest level again. There are few players that could overcome such an injury and that is why the Swede starts up front and captains the Premier League 'Out of Contract XI'.
Players who missed out: Yaya Toure, Michael Carrick, Santi Cazorla, Ander Herrera, Ross Barkley, Jack Wilshere, Marouane Fellaini.
