Joe Hart doesn't believe that experience is enough to earn your place in the England side
Ahead of England's friendly with Brazil, Gabriel Clarke has been speaking to England and West Ham United goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Hart, who has 74 senior caps, is considered one of the core experienced players within the current squad, however he is under the microscope more than ever with the emergence of Jordan Pickford.
Despite this the 30-year-old isn't concerning himself with the form of those around him.
"Jordan was fantastic, it was a really good performance and I'm really happy for him.
"I've worked with Jordan for a long time, I am really pleased with how he did, he went out and played to his potential.
"I can't affect what's going on, once I am not playing I want my team to win."
This England side is in the process of seeing more youth becoming involved in the squad and Hart feels experience may not count for much any longer.
"It's nice to have it but I don't think experience gets you picked, it's all about what you do in the game. Those next 90 minutes are important."
"The manager believes in what he is doing, the squad was picked around playing a formation.
"These are decisions our manager gets paid to make and I don't envy him for that."
Pickford wasn't the only one turning heads on Friday, Ruben Loftus-Cheek emerged to show his potential in the future of England's midfield.
"Ruben just lit the place up didn't he?
"To make your debut and players be looking to give you the ball jut shows what a good game he had."
Tonight sees England take on another giant in the game in the form of Brazil and Hart believes the friendly provides another opportunity for the squad to showcase it's potential.
"It's a great opportunity to play against a top team.
"The squad has high potential at the moment, we want to build the belief and the quality and put that together. You never know what we can achieve."
