England will be hoping to increase their World Cup qualification hopes against Malta Friday evening live on ITV.

The Three Lions have been impressive in this qualification campaign as they still are yet to be beaten.

In the reverse fixture at Wembley last October, England won thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge and Dele Alli.

A lot has changed since then, Gareth Southgate has now become England's permanent boss having initially taken the job as caretaker.

Wayne Rooney was in the starting eleven for Southgate however less than a year later he's announced his retirement from International duty.

Southgate since then has placed England in pole position to qualify for the World Cup in Russia next year.

They sit top of their group with 14 points with Slovakia in second with 12. Their opponents this friday Malta meanwhile have played 6 games and have lost each of them.

With Rooney out of the picture, Southgate has elected to bring through some new exciting young players to the squad.

Watford's Nathaniel Chalobah has received his first full international call up alongside Leicester's Harry Maguire and both will be hoping to get some minutes under Southgate.
