Manchester Arena terror attack: Police make new arrest

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Manchester Arena attack.

Police confirmed that the teenager was being held after he was arrested at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on Friday July 7.

Officers also confirmed that a property on Thelwall Avenue in Fallowfield is being searched as part of their investigation.

The suspect is being held in police custody on suspicion of offences contrary to the Terrorism Act.

The arrest comes the day after anti-terror officers confirmed that they suspect suicide bomber Salman Abedi did not act alone when he carried out the attack on Manchester Arena on May 22, killing 22 people.

In total 23 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation -of which two were de-arrested, and 20 were released without charge.
