Weather: A brighter day with some decent sunshine ahead

Conditions remain windy and occasionally wet across Scotland for a time overnight. Elsewhere it's dry with Saturday's showers dying away.

During the second half of the night, an Atlantic frontal system brings more general cloud and rain in across southern parts of Ireland and much of Wales.

That frontal system will continue to move eastwards across the southern half of the UK through Sunday - fragmenting all the time but certainly introducing more cloud generally.

Northern areas will continue to see a few showers in places and it will remain blustery, but generally it's a brighter day with some decent sunshine.
