Jo Cox's children set to unveil coat of arms dedicated to mum
The two young children of murdered MP Jo Cox will unveil a coat of arms in the Houses of Parliament this weekend in a touching tribute to their mother.
Bearing the motto "More in Common" - a key message Mrs Cox's conveyed in her maiden speech - the memorial plaque was designed by six-year-old Cuillin and Lejla, four, and includes elements to show off her love of rivers and mountains and her support for women.
The plaque also features four red roses to represent each of Mrs Cox's family members, two red for Labour and two white for Yorkshire.
The plaque will be installed in the Commons chamber on Saturday during a "family day" in Parliament where MPs and staff are encouraged to bring young family members to the chamber.
Its addition to the collection of existing memorial heraldic shields in the Commons comes shortly after the first anniversary of the Labour MP's murder.
Mrs Cox was killed in the street by right-wing extremist Thomas Mair as she arrived to host a surgery in her Batley and Spen constituency on June 16 last year.
