Crewe allow captain to join Bury as player-coach

Crewe Alexandra have agreed to terminate the contract of their captain Ryan Lowe in order to allow him to re-join Bury as a player-coach.

The striker was approached about the role in 2016, but Crewe were unwilling to let their key man depart.

Following Steve Davis' sacking at Gresty Road, Lowe has now been allowed to depart by new boss Dave Artell in order to join Chris Brass' backroom staff at Gigg Lane.
