Carrie Fisher: A life in pictures

Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia, shot to international fame when she played the Rebel Alliance leader in Star Wars, Episode IV: A New Hope in 1977.

She passed away in hospital on Tuesday, four days after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles.
