Fifth Harmony become four as Camila Cabello leaves the band

Fifth Harmony have become four after Camila Cabello quit the band.

In a statement, the girl group, who formed on the US X Factor in 2012, said they were informed of Camila's decision "via her representatives".

"We wish her well," it added.

The band have vowed to carry on as a four piece - but it is unclear if they will now change their name.

The band's statement continued: "We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.

"We are excited about the future, and we can't wait for what the new year brings.

"Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all our hearts.

"Love, Ally, Normandi, Dinah and Lauren."

The announcement of Camila's departure came just hours after she appeared with the band on stage at the Jingle Ball in Florida.

Camila, 19, was previously spoken out about her struggle with anxiety.

She said it was this that once caused her to walk out of a concert half way through.

It is unknown if she will now pursue a solo career as she released a track with Shawn Mendes in 2014 and more recently collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly on the track Bad Things.
