Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has admitted to drink-driving, but insisted he did not deliberately consume alcohol.

The Ivorian was arrested in Dagenham last month just days after being part of the City team which beat Burnley 2-1.

Toure was kept out of the City squad for the majority of this season after a Pep Guardiola demanded an apology for comments made by the midfielder's agent.

The former Barcelona player return to action against Crystal Palace in November, scoring twice in the victory at Selhurst Park.

His comeback, however, was overshadowed by his off-the-field indiscretion, which he has now said sorry for.
