More than 30 people killed in Oakland warehouse fire
At least 36 people are now known to have died during a fire that broke out at a warehouse party in California.
Criminal investigators have joined recovery teams at the charred remains in Oakland, with authorities warning the death toll is likely to rise as much of the building is yet to be searched.
The two-storey converted warehouse, known as the "Ghost Ship", was being used by an artists' collective.
Up to 100 people were there for a party on Friday night when the fire started just before midnight.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze, but said clutter fuelled the flames, there were no sprinklers inside and few exits to escape through.
Mayor Libby Schaaf said the city's first priority was finding the victims and supporting their families, adding: "We have delivered the unacceptable and horrific news of losing a loved one to seven of our families."
Sergeant Ray Kelly, spokesman for the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, said some of the victims were under 18 years old, although most were in their 20s and 30s.
