New Jo Cox single to raise money for her foundation

Politicians and popstars have come together to celebrate the life of slain MP Jo Cox by releasing a cover of a Rolling Stones song.

  • Video report by ITV News reporter Helena Carter:

Proceeds from sales of the single, a cover of You Can't Always Get What You Want, will go to the Jo Cox Foundation, which was set up in her memory earlier in the year.

KT Tunstall, Steve Harley, Ricky Wilson and David Gray joined politicians and a community choir to make the single.

Steve Harley, who sings with Cockney Rebel, said of Mrs Cox: "It just seemed that every breath she took seemed to be for someone else's benefit."

"It just shows you the impact that Jo had, the reach, and so many people really get her message," Labour MP Tracy Brabin said.

The single is being released on the 16th December by Chrysalis Records.
