Reddit to crack down on 'toxic users' of a pro-Donald Trump forum
Social networking site Reddit will crack down on the 'most toxic users' of a forum supporting President-elect Donald Trump.
The link-sharing site is well known for its acceptance of free speech, but they will take a "more aggressive stance" after CEO Steve Huffman became the target of some of the site's trolls.
Mr Huffman warned that action against users will range from "warnings to time-outs to permanent bans".
Addressing calls for the forum titled 'The_Donald' to be banned, Huffman said he has resisted doing so in the "spirit of healing".
He goes on to say that when the behaviour of some of the users of the forum is separated from their politics, their actions cannot be tolerated.
"Hundreds" of users will be targeted after being identified by moderators.
Huffman also apologised for previously editing posts that targeted him directly.
