Police rescue baby crocodile stranded in four-lane road

Police in Mexico were faced with a somewhat out of the ordinary job, when they were called in to capture a baby crocodile.

The crocodile was found on the streets of Tampico on Friday, in the middle of a four-lane road, after torrential rain hit the region.

The Carpintero lagoon, which is near the city, is a natural habitat for crocodiles, and the youngster got caught up in the flooding.

Officials used an umbrella to hold the creature down and ensure it didn't bite any of its rescuers, before releasing it into a nearby stream.
