Gang-rape victim says police asked her: 'Who gave you most pleasure?'
A woman who was gang-raped in the southern Indian state of Kerala has alleged that police asked her which perpetrator gave her the greatest pleasure.
The 32-year-old victim was allegedly raped by four of her husband's friends in 2014, and subsequently subjected to lewd and humiliating questions by police when she reported the attack, NDTV reported.
The woman said police also asked her which "size she liked best". She added that the "brutal" treatment she received ultimately forced her to withdraw her complaint.
The victim also said her attackers video recorded the rape, and threatened to make it public if she pursued her complaint.
Police denied the allegations. Authorities in Kerala said an investigation will be launched again into the victim's gang-rape case.
According to India's National Crime Records Bureau, rape is the fourth most common crime perpetrated against women in India, with more than 36,000 rape cases recorded in 2014.
In 2012, a 23-year physiotherapy student died after being brutally gang-raped by six men on a bus in Delhi.
The incident sparked national and global outrage, and prompted violent protests which left at least one police officer dead.
