Two children killed after vehicle collides with Halloween flat-bed trailer
Two children were killed whilst celebrating Halloween when a vehicle crashed into a flat-bed trailer packed with people.
One adult also died during the collision in Chunky, Mississipi - while a number of others were left with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators described the aftermath of the crash, which happened at approximately 7.45pm local time, as "chaos".
Police believe adults and children dressed in Halloween costumes had been travelling in the trailer along a motorway on Monday, about 80 miles east of Jackson, when it was hit.
All three who were killed - two at the scene and one whilst waiting for an air ambulance - were related to each other.
The cause of the crash remains unclear.
Chunky, a small town with a population of 325, is near the Chunky River, a popular site for canoeing.
One police officer described the crash as a "bad thing" to happen to a "small community".
"It's local, it really hits home", he said.
