Ukip leadership frontrunners 'want peerage for Nigel Farage'

Nigel Farage may be set for a peerage once he hands over the reins as leader of Ukip, reports say.

The three main frontrunners to succeed him as leader - Paul Nuttall, Suzanne Evans, and Raheem Kassam - have all said they wish to secure him a place on the red benches of the House of Lords if they win.

According to the Sunday Times, all three are keen on getting the acting head of the party a spot in the Lords.

Mr Nuttall told the paper: "If Ukip are offered positions in the House of Lords, the first name on the list will be Nigel Farage."

Ms Evans told the Sunday Times: "If Nigel wants a seat in the House of Lords, I will campaign like stink for that."
