Elvis Presley has broken the record for the most solo number one albums in the UK with new release 'The Wonder of You'.

The King's latest album is his 13th number one album chart hit, according to the Official Charts Company.

The collection of orchestral re-workings of Elvis' hits with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra sold 63,500 to land the top spot ahead of Michael Buble's 'Nobody But Me' and Lady Gaga's 'Joanne'.

The achievement means Elvis, who died in 1977, has surpassed Madonna who has had 12 UK number one albums.

The Beatles hold the overall record for the most chart-topping albums in the UK with 15.

Elvis' widow Priscilla Presley told the Official Charts Company she was "proud" of his achievements.
