Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter 'thrilled' over expecting second child

Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch has announced he and his wife Sophie Hunter are expecting their second child.

The couple made the announcement last night in Los Angeles at the premiere of his latest film Doctor Strange.

A spokeswoman for the actor said: "Everybody is absolutely thrilled." Their first child Christopher was born in June last year following their Valentine's Day wedding.

Benedict Cumberbatch's latest film sees him playing the role of gifted surgeon Stephen Strange.

The Marvel comics superhero finds a new way to help people after he loses the use of his hands in a car accident. He is then taught magical arts by the 'Ancient One' played by Tilda Swinton which he uses to defeat evil.

Benedict's other co-stars including Rachel McAdams joined him on the red carpet in Hollywood last night for the world premiere.
