Chuck Berry, 90, releasing first album in 38 years
Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry is releasing his first album in almost four decades - coinciding with his 90th birthday.
The American singer-songwriter will release eponymous album "Chuck", which follows up his 1979 album "Rock It".
Details of the Johnny B Goode singer's new album were scant, but an announcement on his website said it would consist mainly of original songs.
Berry, who wrote the single "Roll Over Beethoven", said he was dedicating the new album to his wife of 68 years.
"I’ve worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!", Berry said.
Two of Berry's children, Charles Berry Jr and Ingrid Berry, will also feature on the album.
Berry Jr said the new songs "cover the spectrum from hard-driving rockers to soulful, thought-provoking time capsules of a life's work".
In a career spanning seven decades, Berry received a lifetime achievement Grammy in 1984 and was among the first inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
