Man 'high on drugs' saves dog from imaginary house fire
A man "high" on hallucinogenic drugs broke into his neighbour's home to save their dog from an imaginary fire.
Michael Orchard, 43, allegedly made his way into his neighbour's house in New York to save their pet from what he thought was a burning home.
But there was, in fact, no fire, police told WNYT-TV.
When officers arrived at the scene they discovered Orchard standing heroically in front of the house holding the dog - believing he had saved it from death.
Police later determined Orchard was hallucinating on LSD and cough mixture.
Before breaking into the home, Orchard had banged on neighbours' doors yelling that there was a fire.
When nobody came to help, he drove a vehicle through his neighbour's fence to reach the house and dog.
Orchard was arrested and charged with burglary.
