Tennis player Nick Kyrgios suspended over Shanghai Masters behaviour
Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has been suspended by the ATP following his conduct at the Shanghai Masters.
During a match Kyrgios reverted to deliberately serving poorly in order to end the match as quickly as possible.
Kyrgios has since apologised for his actions, but will now be suspended until January 2017.
On several occasions, Kyrgios patted down tame serves or even just wandered off court while the rally was still going on.
He was fined a total of 16,500 US dollars (£13,500) on Thursday but has now been fined a further USD25,000 (£20,500) in addition to the suspension.
Kyrgios could be allowed to return to action on November 7 if he agrees to undertake a care plan involving a sports psychologist.
