Trump: 'False' accusations will not distract me from campaign
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said that "absolutely false" claims that he groped several women were made to detract from his campaign to win the White House.
Speaking at a rally in Columbus, Ohio, he said that he had to spend valuable time talking about the allegations and said it was part of a coordinated attempt to keep him from the Oval Office.
"They've slandered and libeled me with false accusations but we will not let these lies distract us from our campaign," Trump said.
"I want to talk about policies affecting our lives but I did want to mention that we did spend some time talking about that today."
He said accusations that he groped women in a series of incidents going back to the 1980s were false.
"I've never met these people. I don't even know who they are. They're made-up stories filed right before the election," he said.
The allegations, printed in several US media outlets, come less than a week after a video from 2005 was released which showed Trump making vulgar comments about groping women.
