JK Rowling reveals five Fantastic Beasts films planned
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has revealed she has planned scripts for at least four further Fantastic Beasts films.
The author announced the plans to thousands of fans at an event celebrating next month's release of the first movie Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
Speaking at the event in London's Leicester Square with actor Eddie Redmayne and director David Yates, Rowling said: "We always knew it was going to be more than one movie, and we said a trilogy as a place holder.
"But I've done the plotting properly and I'm pretty sure it's going to be five movies."
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, released on November 18, is set in New York and tells the story of an author living among wizards and witches mentioned in the Harry Potter stories.
Eddie Redmayne plays the part of magical animal-loving Newt Scamander, said of JK Rowling: "She has the most extraordinary imagination of our generation and she has created something entirely different. That world is spilling out of her head in a unique way."
David Yates directed the final four Harry Potter films and will return for the confirmed sequel.
