Tinder date murder trial: Woman plunged 14 floors to her death
A woman on a Tinder date suffered more than 80 injures when she plunged to her death from her match's balcony, a court has heard.
Warriena Wright allegedly begged Gable Tostee, 30, to let her leave his apartment hours after the pair connected on the dating app.
Tostee is now on trial for Wright's murder after she allegedly became locked out on the 14th floor balcony and attempted to lower herself off the edge out of fear - instead falling to her death.
New Zealander Wright, who had been on holiday in Surfers Paradise on Australia's east coast, met Tostee in August 2014.
In audio recorded by Tostee before her death and played to a court, he can be heard complaining about Wright beating him up before calling her a "psycho bitch".
"This is f****** bullshit. You are lucky I haven't chucked you off my balcony you goddamn psycho little bitch", the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported him as saying.
Wright is heard to shout "no" amid the sound of what appeared to be a door unlocking and repeatedly saying "just let me go home".
Prosecutors allege Wright became locked out on the balcony in the early hours of the morning after Tostee became angry.
When she attempted to lower herself off the edge, she fell to the bottom of the block and suffered injuries including severe head trauma.
The court was told Tostee left the apartment after her fall and called his father, a lawyer and ate a pizza.
In a recorded telephone call to his father, Tostee is heard saying: "I swear to God I didn't push her, I just chucked her out on the balcony because she was beating me up.
"Oh my God, I hope she's not dead".
Tostee pleaded not guilty to murder.
