Donald Trump accused of groping 'several' women

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is facing fresh allegations he groped 'several' women.

In the New York Times newspaper (NYT) Jessica Leeds and Rachel Crooks claim Trump touched them without permission.

Ms Leeds, now 74, claims Trump grabbed her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt during a plane journey 30 years ago.

She described his advances as "an assault" and said his hands were everywhere "like an octopus".

Ms Crooks was a receptionist in her 20s based at a company in Trump Tower when she claims he kissed her on the lips by a lift.

She said the encounter was "inappropriate" and that she "cried hysterically" to her boyfriend when she told him the story.

In an interview with the Palm Beach Post,a third woman, Mindy McGillvray, 36, claims Trump grabbed her bottom during a Ray Charles concert.

None of the women reported the incidents to the police but said they told close relatives and friends.

Trump's campaign has responded to the New York Times claims calling them "fiction."

Trump's senior communications adviser Jason Miller said: "This entire article is fiction, and for the New York Times to launch a completely false, coordinated character assassination against Mr Trump on a topic like this is dangerous.

"To reach back decades in an attempt to smear Mr Trump trivialises sexual assault, and it sets a new low for where the media is willing to go in its efforts to determine this election.

"It is absurd to think that one of the most recognisable business leaders on the planet with a strong record of empowering women in his companies would do the things alleged in this story, and for this to only become public decades later in the final month of a campaign for president should say it all."

Meanwhile, in a Buzzfeed article, four women who took part in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pagent said the billionaire tycoon walked into the dressing room while some of them were changing and then said "he'd seen it all before".

CBS news has also released footage of Mr Trump reportedly making inappropriate comments about a group of schoolgirls who were visiting Trump Tower when he was 46.

In the footage Mr Trump said he would be "dating one of them in 10 years".

The new claims follow the release of an audio and video tape from 2005 where Mr Trump made lewd comments about women which he later apologised for and described as "locker room talk".

ITV News' Washington Correspondent Robert Moore called the fresh allegations "an October tsunami".

Hillary Clinton's communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, released a statement in response to the claims which she described as "disturbing".

She added: "This disturbing story sadly fits everything we know about the way Donald Trump has treated women.

"These reports suggest that he lied on the debate stage and that the disgusting behaviour he bragged about in the tape are more than just words."
