Kim Kardashian Halloween robbery victim costume removed from sale after sparking outrage
A Halloween costume said to depict Kim Kardashian on the night she was robbed in Paris has been pulled after sparking outrage.
The "Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume" doesn't specifically name the reality TV star.
But its description on California-based website Costumeish left little doubt as to who they were referring to.
Advertising the outfit for $69.99, it said it comes with "white short sexy robe, long black wig, fake $4 million dollar ring, large sunglasses, fake gag and 2 feet of rope."
It added: "She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism.
"But all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewelry (sic) and her peace of mind.
"This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of social media with our sensational 'Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume.'"
Many took to Twitter to blast the costume "offensive", "disgusting" and "tasteless".
Costume company founder Johnathon Weeks defending the outfit saying: "We're not mocking her. Halloween references pop culture and celebrities are no different. That's Halloween."
But Costumeish later tweeted they had decided to remove the "Parisian Heist" costume from their website saying "sorry if we offended anyone".
The firm has been behind a handful of outfits in the past which have caused uproar.
This included last year's "Bruce Gender" costume which depicts Kim Kardashian's stepdad Bruce Jenner before and after she came out as transgender woman Caitlyn Jenner.
