Former WWE World Champion Alberto Del Rio stabbed after meal out

A former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) World Champion has been stabbed after going out for dinner.

In a statement posted on his Instagram, Alberto Del Rio said he was assaulted outside a restaurant and suffered multiple cuts when he tried to defend himself.

Despite posting graphic pictures online of his injuries, one which showed a cut to the top of his head and and another which showed multiple cuts to his arm, the wrestler was not seriously injured and said he will not miss any of his shows for the rest of the year.

A four-time World champion in wrestling’s premier competition, Del Rio (real name Jose Alberto Rodriguez) won the WWE Championship and WWE World Heavyweight Championships twice, as well as being a two-time WWE United States Champion.

The Mexican is currently competing on the independent circuit under the ring name Alberto el Patrón.
