Jo Cox's accused murderer Thomas Mair declines to enter plea
The man accused of killing MP Jo Cox appeared at court today but said nothing when the charges were put to him.
Thomas Mair, 52, remained silent as the charges of murdering Jo Cox, possessing a firearm and an offensive weapon namely a dagger and causing grievous bodily harm to Bernard Carter Kenny were put to him.
It was explained to the court that in such circumstances a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
Members of the former Labour MP's family were at the Old Bailey to watch the proceedings during which Mair appeared via video link from Belmarsh prison.
The court was told that no defence based on medical evidence would be permitted. The trial will take place on November 14th.
