And pout! Credit card shoppers can pay with a selfie

Shoppers could strike a pose to verify their card payment under a new 'selfie pay' system being introduced to the UK.

Mastercard will let customers snap a quick picture to verify their purchases instead of the more traditional signature or password.

The company's new Identity Check Mobile is now being introduced to the UK and a number of other European countries following successful trials.

Users must download an app and blink on command - which is apparently enough to verify if they are genuine.

“We want to identify people for who they are, not what they remember," said Mastercard's president of security Ajay Bhalla.

The company has previously said that it was looking at a number of high-tech identification methods including voice recognition and cardiac rhythm.

They are not the first to experiment with the futuristic identification methods.

Amazon has previously said that it is looking to introduce a similar system for people shopping on their smartphone.
