Kim Kardashian back in US after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris

Kim Kardashian is back in the US after being robbed of £8 million worth of jewellery in Paris.

The reality TV star flew home on a private jet after five men armed with guns forced their way into her luxury apartment before making off with the jewels.

It is believed the men - who are still at large - tied her up and locked her in a bathroom leaving her "badly shaken but physically unharmed".

Her spokesman said the thieves were masked and dressed as policemen.

A Paris police official said a jewellery box containing valuables worth £5.2m and a ring worth £3.5m had been stolen by the men, who are thought to have fled on bikes.

Only two of the five suspects forced their way into the apartment behind the Madeleine church at around 3am, according to the city's prosecutors' office.

Three days before the robbery, Kim posted a close-up photograph of a huge diamond ring on her left hand captioned with three diamond emojis.

At the time of the attack the reality television star's husband, rapper Kanye West, was performing at a concert in New York.

West walked out of his show at the Meadows festival citing a "family emergency".

He was in the middle of performing "Heartless" when he told a stunned audience: "I'm sorry, there's a family emergency, I have to stop the show."

The festival also tweeted to say that the 39-year-old had to leave because of an "emergency".

Earlier that day she also tweeted a picture of her bodyguard following her.

A tweet posted on September 28 said: "My security @PascalDuvier is a G" after he protected her from a celebrity prankster who tried to accost her at a restaurant.

Officials in Paris confirmed that an investigation is underway into the robbery.

A number of celebrities, including Piers Morgan and James Corden, sent their sympathies to Kim in messages on social media.
