The boss of DreamWorks has hinted that a fifth Shrek movie is in the pipeline - saying there is "more to come" from the franchise.

Hollywood movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenburg said there was great ambition to continue the hit animation series, which features the voices of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy.

Shrek Forever After was the last film to be released in 2010.

But Katzenburg said fans can expect to see more for many years ahead.

"I think there's great ambition and great excitement and fantastic ideas. Shrek will be around for a long time. Longer than me."

However, the film chief - who co-founded the company with Steven Spielberg and David Geffen in 1994 - said the decision is with NBCUniversal who acquired DreamWorks in April this year.

"I think there's more to come. It's now up to Universal. They get to decide that," he added.

Katzenburg made the comments as he became the 296th person to be honoured in Hollywood by having his hand and footprints immortalised in cement on the Walk of Fame.
