One dead and four injured as lifeboat detaches from world's biggest cruise liner

One person was killed and four injured when a lifeboat became detached from the world's biggest cruise liner.

Harmony of the Seas was docked in Marseille, France, when the lifeboat became "detached" from the deck with five people on board.

It is believed a security drill was happening when the incident occurred.

Of the four injured two are in a critical condition, a fire service spokesperson said.

The 120,000-tonne, £700 million liner, operated by Florida-based Royal Caribbean, entered service in May.

At 66 metres high, it is the highest cruise ship ever built, while its 362-metre length makes it 50 metres longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower.

Harmony of the Seas has 16 decks, 20 restaurants and can carry more than 6,000 passengers and 2,400 crew.
