Driver killed after school football team bus crash at airport
A bus driver carrying a school football team was killed after the vehicle crashed into a concrete bridge pillar.
Nearly 20 people, including 15 pupils and three sport coaches, were taken to hospital following the collision at Denver International Airport on Sunday, it was reported.
The driver, a woman, was pronounced dead a short time later.
Two of those taken to hospital following the crash were in a critical condition, Denver Medical Centre told NBC News.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
An airport spokesperson said the bus, carrying pupils from Legacy High School, had been approaching the passenger arrivals of the east terminal at 4pm local time when it veered into a support bridge.
In a Facebook post Sunday night, the school's student government said: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the legacy football team, coaches, and families".
