Andy Cosslett nominated to become next Rugby Football Union chairman
Andy Cosslett has been nominated to become the next chairman of the Rugby Football Union.
Cosslett has served as an independent non-executive director on the RFU board, and was chairman of England Rugby 2015, the organising committee for last year's World Cup.
The 61-year-old is set to succeed Bill Beaumont, the former England captain who left the RFU role earlier this year to become chairman at World Rugby.
A statement on Friday from the RFU, the English game's governing body, said its nominations committee had unanimously proposed Cosslett to be the next chairman after an "extensive recruitment process".
It added that the appointment is subject to approval at the next RFU Council meeting on October 14.
