Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential candidate, has insisted she is not concerned by rumours surrounding her health.
Donald Trump's team and supporters have consistently fuelled speculation that Clinton is ill and physically incapable of being president.
Unsubstantiated claims, made by right-wing news outlets and commentators, have included that Clinton has suffered a stroke, struggles to walk and has a bodyguard carry around a syringe containing anti-seizure medicine.
Trump has even challenged his rival to release detailed medical records.
Clinton, answering questions on her campaign plane on Monday, said: "I'm not concerned about the conspiracy theories, there are so many of them I've lost track of them.
"I pay no attention to them."
The comments came after Clinton struggled to contain a severe coughing fit as she tried to make a Labor Day speech in Ohio.
She was eventually able to joke: "Every time I think about Trump, I get allergic."
Her campaign team later blamed allergies for the cough.
On Tuesday, Trump reacted by peddling more conspiracy theories about Clinton's health, accusing the mainstream media of failing to cover her "coughing attack".
