A contestant on this year's Great British Bake Off claims he suffered racist abuse after appearing in the show.

Rav Bansal, 28, has appeared in the first two episodes of the hit BBC show this series.

However, Bansal took to Twitter on Thursday, claiming he had been called a "P***" since appearing on TV.

Bansal described how he had been asked if he was the "p***" on the "not so British Bake Off" - before adding "really, in 2016?".

Fellow contestant Benjamina Ebuehi replied to the tweet, saying "so horrible".

Meanwhile, another baker on this year's show, Selasi Gbormittah, wrote: "What is happening?".

Last year's winner Nadiya Hussain has previously spoken of insults and violence she suffered at the hands of strangers.
