BA flights to Tehran set to resume after four-year gap
British Airways flights direct to Tehran from London will resume after a four-year gap.
Thursday's flight, set to depart at 9pm from Heathrow, will be the first direct trip by a UK carrier to Iran since 2012.
Flights were suspended following a breakdown in relations - a year after the British embassy in Tehran was closed down.
But following the lifting of some sanctions against Iran in January and the re-opening of the British embassy in 2015, the resumption of direct flights looked more likely.
BA has announced it will now fly passengers to the Iranian capital six days a week.
Air France resumed flying to Tehran in April after a seven-year break.
