Moussa Sissoko swaps Newcastle United for Tottenham Hotspur in £30m deal
Spurs have confirmed the signing of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle for £30m.
Tottenham secured the midfielder's services on a five-year deal after beating Premier League rivals Everton to his signature on deadline day.
The French international had been linked with a move away from St, James' Park throughout the summer, and Goodison Park appeared his most likely destination for most of the day.
That was until the 27 year-old made it clear he would prefer a move to Spurs, who were able to offer him the chance of playing Champions League football this season.
With 30 minutes left until the transfer window closed on Wednesday night, Everton conceded defeat and withdrew their interest when Spurs decided to match their £30m offer.
