How Jade Jones' family and friends reacted to Olympic win

This is the moment Jade Jones' family and friends went wild when she won Olympic gold at Rio.

The taekwondo star defended her London 2012 title beating Spain's Eva Calvo Gomez 16-7 in the final of the 57kg category.

Around 100 supporters - including dad Gary and aunt Elaine - nervously watched the bout in the early hours.

Gathered in Jones' hometown of Flint in Wales, they lived every moment of the tense finale before erupting into cheers as she claimed victory once again.

The 23-year-old's dad Gary was ecstatic and called her his "super girl".

He told ITV Wales he was "so happy" at her double Olympic achievement.

His daughter wanted to become a "legend" and she had achieved her dream, he added.

Jade's great aunt Elaine told ITV News she could not watch the fight so "just listened to the cheers".

She added: "I couldn't look! But it's marvellous. I'm so proud of her".

Speaking after her victory in Rio, Jones said: "I'm so proud of myself because I didn't realise how much pressure I would feel coming into these Games.

"I started crying before the semi-final because I was just so nervous and felt so much pressure. But I pulled it off when it mattered so I'm just so happy.

"I know inside I'm the best but you can still lose so it's such a scary feeling. You've trained for four years of your life, six hours a day, and when it pays off it just feels amazing."

Jones will spend one more week in Rio "cheer on the rest of the team".

When she gets back to Flint she is sure to be given a hero's welcome.

And she has some words of wisdom for anyone wanting to follow in her footsteps:
