Ricky Norwood: Being written out of EastEnders over sex scandal left me deeply depressed

Former EastEnders star Ricky Norwood said he was left in a "deep depression" after the sex scandal that led to him being axed from the show.

The actor, who played Arthur "Fatboy" Chubb in the soap from 2010 to 2015, was immediately suspended after a video emerged showing him smoking cannabis and performing a sex act on Skype.

Soap bosses then decided not to renew his contract and his character was killed off-screen in the Christmas Day episode last year.

Norwood revealed his bitterness over the decision as he claimed he had been "sold out" by an acquaintance during a conversation on Celebrity Big Brother with fellow housemate Renee Graziano.

He said he 'held his hands up' to the scandal and seemed surprised to have been written out.

However he said he was "happy" with his time on the show, adding: "I was only supposed to be there for three months, I was there just under six years."

Norwood faces eviction this week in the reality show alongside James Whale, Lewis Bloor, Samantha Fox and Stephen Bear.
