Team GB cycle to success in Rio, taking home gold and silver in the velodrome

Team GB have won gold in women's team pursuit, in a thrilling repeat of 'Super Saturday' in the velodrome that saw them beat the USA team.

Earlier on the two battled it out in the heats taking world records one after the other.

Kate Archibald, Laura Trott, Elinor Barker and Joanna Rowsell smashed their own world record, completing in 4 minutes, 10.26 seconds.

It is a historic win for Team GB, with Laura Trott becoming the first British woman to win three gold medals.

Welsh cyclist Becky James also performed well on Saturday, winning silver in the women's kierin.

The wins followed a brilliant Saturday morning at Rio for Team GB, with rowers bringing home gold and silver in the men's and women's eight event.

Success was also had on the athletics track with a gold for Mo Farah, as well as a silver for Jessica Ennis-Hill, and a bronze for Greg Rutherford.
