Sir Bradley Wiggins on retiring: Gold medal was 'fairytale ending' to career
Sir Bradley Wiggins has spoken to ITV News about his retirement, saying that his win on Friday was the "fairytale ending" of his career.
His fifth Olympic gold medal, won in Rio as part of the team pursuit event, makes him the most decorated British Olympic athlete of all time.
"The last one is always going to feel the best," he said, "but I'm still taken back to my first in Athens - that was special - and then London, that was an amazing experience."
He said that he will "never stop" riding a bike, saying that his whole family ride bikes, and that cycling is his passion.
He added: "Cycling's still very much going to carry on and be a big part of my life"
The cycling star will take part in a handful of races over the summer, and officially retire later this year.
