Sian Williams 'sore, swollen and bruised' after dog attack
News presenter Sian Williams has told how she was left "sore, swollen and bruised" after being attacked by a friend's neighbour's dog.
The former BBC Breakfast star, 51, posted images of her wounded knee on Twitter, saying the pet "would not stop" and the attack "lasted ages".
The Channel 5 newsreader was prescribed antibiotics and had a tetanus injection.
"Grrr. Prescribed antibiotics after a dog had a go at my knee," Williams wrote.
"No lead, wouldn't stop, lasted ages, very sore. Advice?" the mother-of-four asked her followers.
Some fans asked if the presenter knew who the dog belonged to and urged her to report the incident to the police.
"Thanks. All cleaned up. Yes had tetanus. Will follow course and get friend to talk to her neighbour (the dog owner!)," she later wrote.
When one follower told her the wound was "probably a subperiosteal haematoma (bruise on the bone) from the bite - painful but it passes", Williams replied: "Yes - doesn't look much but it's surprisingly sore, swollen and bruised - will quote impressive Latin name for it."
