Subway worker arrested after police officer's drink 'drugged'

A Subway sandwich shop employee has been arrested after he allegedly drugged a police officer's drink.

Authorities in Utah, USA, said a police sergeant immediately felt impaired after getting the drink on Monday.

He reportedly struggled to find the brake of his patrol car at a red light and was unable to answer questions at the police station.

He was later taken to hospital, and it is believed he ingested methamphetamine and THC. His condition is not known.

The employee was arrested on suspicion of surreptitiously giving a poisonous substance. He denies the allegations.

Subway has not commented.
