Jamie Oliver and wife, Jools, have welcomed their fifth child with the birth of their baby boy.

The couple, who already have three daughters and a son, announced the birth on Instagram.

The celebrity chef had previously joked that "a bit more testosterone would probably be a good thing".

The couple have not yet revealed the name of the baby, but Jamie hinted it will be unusual, saying he would be named after "something floral or from the natural world".

The 41-year-old chef announced that the baby "arrived safely" and weighed eight pounds, or as he put it, "16 packs of butter for you bakers out there".

Oliver also announced that Poppy Honey, 14, and Daisy Boo, 12, "my two eldest Girls got to come in at the very end as the baby was born which was amazing to witness very very emotional".

Jools Oliver, 41, posted a picture on Instagram of her breastfeeding the baby and said her two eldest daughters cut the cord.

Jamie had previously insisted the child would be the couple's last.

He said: "I mean, it's just getting ridiculous otherwise. "This (baby) was not expected, I can't even believe I'm saying it. I think my own family were like 'Really?'

"I do what I'm told, but she's an amazing family-maker, and I just go with it!" the The Naked Chef added.
