Former Liverpool legend John Barnes sings World in Motion rap on the tube

Liverpool legend John Barnes was accosted by excited fans who were on their way home and sang along with them to a song he rapped on in 1990.

Fans using the London underground to get back from the Liverpool game against Barcelona were shocked when they found themselves standing next to the football star.

They started singing his rap from the New Order song World In Motion, encouraging him to join in.

The 52-year-old sang most of the song before needing to step off the train, singing as he backed out of the train doors.

The video was uploaded to Twitter by Daniel McCafferty who tweeted: "Okay so this just happened... Tube on way back from today's game!"

World In Motion was released in 1990 by New Order, and featured several members of the England 1990 team.

It was the band's only number one hit in the UK.
