Seb Coe: Anti-doping structures have not failed everybody
Anti-doping structures in place in the sporting world have not failed everybody in spite of the Russia doping crisis, Seb Coe has said.
Speaking to ITV News, the president of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) maintained that sports authorities have not neglected their responsibilities to the Games.
"It's very easy to say there is a wholesale failure - there isn't," Lord Coe said.
"We're not going to be judged over the next few days about what we do here. The Games will take place, sport will kick in. Our judgement will be what we do collectively between the end of the Games and the end of the year."
With just a few days left until the start of the Rio 2016 Games on Friday, most Russian athletes still do not know whether or not they will be allowed to compete, and the doping scandal continues to dominate discussions behind the scenes.
